The new GPhC standards for the initial education and training of pharmacists will transform pharmacy education and pharmacists of the future.  Pre-registration Training has been replaced by Foundation Training. Our Foundation programme provides a smooth transition and is designed to support you at every step of the journey to qualification and beyond, equipping you with the knowledge & skills to launch a successful pharmacy career.

The Head Start Programme

The Head Start programme comprises a series of six online webinars, accompanying guides, and resources, taught by our expert team of trainers. It supports trainees and supervisors to ensure that the transition from pharmacy student to Foundation training is as seamless as possible. It serves the two fold purpose of ensuring trainees start the year with confidence, as well as takes some of the pressure off supervisors by supporting them to deliver some of the key learning outcomes that are best taught at the start of the year

The Core Programme

The Core programme follows a blended learning approach comprising 10 training days that combine a mix of expert-led face-to-face and on-demand learning, to create a truly engaging learning experience covering all the key components of the registration assessment framework. It utilises a range of teaching and learning methods We also run a Core programme that is tailored for trainees completing their training in GP & community pharmacy split sector placements. This covers additional key learning outcomes for developing the role of pharmacists in general practice and a broad range of knowledge and skills.

The Accelerate Programme

The Accelerate Programme consists of a series of optional study days designed to equip trainees with the necessary skills for delivering key services. It also enables them to create a bespoke training experience for themselves which gives them a competitive edge when approaching different job opportunities in a variety of sectors of pharmacy.
