We are pleased to offer two fully funded, free to access Supervisor training programmes for those supervising the pharmacy workforce. These programmes will ensure those involved in educational supervision, are confident to provide support and developmental aid to the pharmacy workforce.
Both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians can apply for the educational supervisor training.
Designated Prescribing Practitioners (DPP) supporting supervision of learners in the pharmacy workforce
There are two programmes:
Programme 1: Training for Educational Supervisors including Designated Supervisors. Both pharmacists and pharmacy technicians can apply for the educational supervisor training.
Programme 2: Training for Designated Prescribing Practitioners (DPP) supporting supervision of learners completing independent prescribing training.
Pharmacist and pharmacy technician roles are evolving rapidly in response to changes in healthcare and growing demand for clinical services in community pharmacy. Learner supervision is needed across the pharmacy professions to underpin the transformation and up-skilling of the growing pharmacy workforce.

Our blended learning approach is designed to accommodate the demanding schedules of busy healthcare professionals. The programmes are structured into manageable, bite-sized online lessons lasting between 20 to 30 minutes each. This format allows learners to progress at their own pace. Additionally, participants will need to attend two online live workshops, each 2.5 hours long. The entire programme is efficiently paced to ensure completion within 15 hours and learners will have 3 months to complete the programme.
Assessments will include a choice of reflective account, multisource feedback and peer observation of supervision skills
Yes, a certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the programme
